A dear friend of mine, Tina is one of those gorgeous, hip ladies who seems to have the world on a string and I've always admired her. I hadn't seen her for almost a year. In that year, I lost about 65 pounds, grew a goatee and bought a new, more stylish wardrobe.
I walked into her office and asked for her. As she entered the room, she looked at me strangely for a second, like she didn't know me. Then her face lit up and she said "You're a stud!". I blushed a little and went to hug her and say hello. She said "No. Stop. I just want to look at you for a minute. YOU ARE A STUD!"
Now folks, I don't know what's more motivating than that but, if you find it, let me know. (Thanks, Tina.)
The nice thing about how my life has changed throughout this process, is that folks are continually encouraging. Not too many days go by when someone doesn't mention how nice I look or how they're encouraged by my progress. It's kind of like a snowball and I know that eventually, folks will stop mentioning it because the changes will slow. But, I tell you what, being called a "stud" by Tina (or something similarly flattering by a handsome young man) will keep you motived for weeks!
So, see some old friends and fish for compliments.
