The first bite is the only one that REALLY tastes good.
I don't know about you, but there's something very special about how a hot fudge sundae tastes in the early summer, on a hot day, when you haven't had one for months and months. The flavors are amazing. The hot/cold sensation of the hot fudge and cold ice cream is marvelous. Can you, right now in your head, bring back the flavor or that first bite?
I also think that in the fall, after a hayride, when there's a chill in the air, that drinking a cup of hot cider under the blanket with your sweetie is pure heaven. Can you, right now in your head, bring back the flavor or that first sip?
What does the second bite or sip taste like? Just like the first one, right? But not exactly. If you're like me, it's really the first bite/sip that is AMAZING. The rest of them are....well....less satisfying, somehow. And, frankly, by the last bite/sip you're just eating/drinking because there's something left in the bowl/cup.
STOP THAT! STOP THAT! STOP THAT! You can cut the calories of any food in half by simply eating half of what you would normally eat! So, enjoy the first bite of whatever you're eating, but stop eating when you're not hungry anymore, or when you've eaten enough to fuel your body.
Afterall: The first bite is the only one that REALLY tastes good.
