I've touched on this in several other rules, but I wanted to spend a little time on it.
Sucralose, malitol and aspertame are very useful artificial sweeteners. Now, I'll quickly admit that I'm not an expert on the health benefits/risks of these products, but I do use them and they work for me, so I'm including them here.
Between the no-sugar-added ice cream, sugar-free candies and using Splenda (sucralose) for cooking, I have a lot more options that I would had have 20 years ago.
I'm a Type I diabetic, so artificial sweeteners really help me keep down the carbs I take in, and they work well for the Sugar Busters diet.
HOWEVER: Be very careful with sugar alcohols, they can cause...well...let's just say, gastric distress, if you consume them in large quantities.
So, you'll discover, today's sugar-free products are phenomenal!
