These are the rules that guide my behavior as it relates to food and fitness. Some come from the
Sugar Busters
diet, some from other sources, some I have come to realize on my own. I have attempted to give credit where it is due.

Don't eat poison.
If the belly is hungry, feed the belly. If the mouth is hungry, feed the mouth.
If your mouth betrays you: reward it or punish it, but don't try to ignore it!
Water simplifies life

Your stomach doesn't know the difference between water and food.
Portion control can make you or break you.
The first bite is the only one that really tastes good.
If you miss a meal: BONUS!
Any exercise is more than no exercise.
If you're doing better than yesterday, then you're improving. You rock!
Nutrition and exercise are BOTH about you and you only. Don't make it about anyone else.
Become a food snob.
See some old friends and fish for compliments!
Become an expert at substituting flavor types: a.k.a. the Cinnabon experiment.
Texture matters!
Today's sugar-free products are phenomenal!
Water is heavy, and muscle is heavy.
The perils of weighing in each day are few and insignificant.
Plateaus have a purpose.
